Driver to manage our key route from Atlanta, GA to various locations in California.
Key Responsibilities:
Safely operate a commercial truck to transport goods from Atlanta, GA to multiple locations in California.
Plan and execute delivery schedules, ensuring timely arrival of shipments.
Adhere to all federal and state transportation regulations and company safety policies.
Perform pre-trip and post-trip vehicle inspections to ensure roadworthiness.
Secure loads to prevent shifting or damage during transit.
Communicate regularly with dispatchers and clients to update on delivery status.
Maintain accurate logs of working hours, mileage, fuel consumption, and cargo details.
Handle any unforeseen issues on the road, such as delays, breakdowns, or weather-related challenges.
Provide exceptional customer service during pick-up and delivery of goods.
Ensure the safe and legal transport of hazardous materials (if applicable).
Report any accidents, incidents, or vehicle maintenance needs immediately.
Qualifications:
Valid Commercial Driver’s License (CDL) with a clean driving record.
Minimum of 3 years of long-haul driving experience, preferably with experience on cross-country routes.
Strong knowledge of federal and state transportation laws, including Hours of Service (HOS) regulations.
Ability to navigate cross-country routes using GPS and maps, with a strong understanding of the geography between Georgia and California.
Experience with reefer, flatbed, or dry van trailers is a plus.
Ability to lift and secure loads, including operating necessary equipment (e.g., tarps, chains, straps).
Strong time management and organizational skills.
Ability to work independently and make decisions on the road.
Willingness to comply with company policies, including drug and alcohol testing.
